Animal lovers will have a chance to see a free fireworks show and help out their four-legged friends at Sky Wars on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Innsbrook Fireworks Field, halfway between Wright City and Innsbrook.
Promoters of Sky Wars, an explosion of light and sound, have pledged to give a portion of the thousands of tickets sold to construction next year of a no-kill animal shelter to be built by Concerned Citizens for Animal Care of Warren County (CCAC). Coincidentally, the animal shelter is to be built in land adjacent to the fireworks field at 13604 Highway M.
The animal shelter group needs 110 volunteers for staffing at the event. Volunteers are needed for the following events: bag check, wrist band check-in, cleanup, food/beverage restocking, food/drink delivery to volunteers, information booth, parking/traffic control and security.
Volunteers must be over 21, and besides getting to view the fireworks show for free, they will get a free T-shirt, lunch and parking in a designated area. They must wear masks and use hand sanitizer along with observing social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Click on the "Volunteers Needed" banner above to sign up. Any questions about volunteering can be directed to Lynda Baker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
General admission tickets to Star Wars are $25 and $35; remaining VIP tickets are $150. General admission parking is free; premier parking is $25. For additional information, go to www.skywarsevent.com or call 314-730-0793.
